Somewhere in this forum (which I could access before I signed up, but can no longer find-BUT HERE YOU ARE), someone advised downloading the iBook app from iTunes, then going to the iPad and syncing it through "Purchases" and that Apple would MAGICALLY tell me I needed an earlier version and generously provide it. It seems that Apple is determined that all iPads prior to the newest, most expensive one, are rendered obsolete and are to be consigned to the nearest electronic junk yard in order to sell more high-end iPads. I have been reading the forum regarding getting an earlier version of iBooks on an iPad (iOS 5.1.1.) 1. NOPE! Other ideas? I posted this elsewhere in the forum because I could not find this discussion: same 2 errors aboveĬan anyone suggest how I can get out of this and get iBooks re-installed? Click on the install on the now 3.1.1 version of iBooks - the button changes from "Install" to "Will Install". You can install the iBooks app on your iPad using the Apps tab. The iBooks app is not installed on “ iPad”, so you will not be able to read books on your iPad. (Yet when I follow the instructions to authorize it, it continues to say this computer is already authorized. ibooks was removed from the list of apps that were not able to be installed (on IOS 5.1.1 on my first gen iPad), BUT I continue to get two additional errors:ġ.The app "iBooks" was not installed on the iPad (my iPad name) because you are not authorized for it on this computer. I downloaded the 3.1.1 version of ibooks & verified it was replaced.
